TEMSA captures over 30% of the European midi market

Following a record year in Europe in 2025, driven particularly by strong growth in the coach segment, TEMSA has further strengthened its position in the region, reaching a market share of over 30% in the European midi segment based on early 2026 results.

Madrid, 22 September 2026 – TEMSA continues to build on its strong growth momentum in Europe, following a record performance in the region in 2025. Last year, the company achieved its highest-ever annual sales volume in Europe, setting new sales records across key markets including France, Germany, the UK, Ireland, Greece and Belgium.

Building on this strong position in the coach market, TEMSA has further expanded its presence across Europe with strong growth in the midi segment. Based on early 2026 results, the company has reached a market share of over 30% in the European midi market, further strengthening its leadership in the segment.

Avenue Neo 9e, the symbol of TEMSA’s electric mobility ambitions in Europe

Prestij has been a key driver of this performance. With more than 22,000 units sold worldwide to date, the model represents TEMSA’s long-standing expertise in the midibus segment. Following the launch of its renewed generation in 2025, Prestij has attracted strong interest across European markets.

While Prestij continues to strengthen TEMSA’s position in the midi segment, Avenue Neo 9e is making its mark in urban mobility, becoming one of the clearest expressions of the company’s electric mobility ambitions in Europe.

At FIAA 2026 in Madrid, TEMSA showcased the two models side by side, reflecting both the strength of its existing portfolio and its ambition to grow further across Europe’s evolving mobility landscape.

Europe is one of TEMSA’s core markets and a key contributor to its international growth. TEMSA’s total sales volume in Europe has doubled compared with pre-pandemic levels, driven primarily by growth in the coach and midibus segments. The company also ranks among the top 10 players in the coach market in both Europe and Spain.

Spain plays an important role in TEMSA’s European growth strategy. As one of the company’s key markets in the region, the experience gained in Spain also provides valuable insights into evolving customer expectations and mobility needs across Europe.

“Spain is an important part of our European growth journey”

Commenting on TEMSA’s European performance, TEMSA CEO Evren Güzel said: “Europe is one of our core markets and a key part of our growth strategy. Our leadership in the midi segment reflects the strong position we have built across the region. Spain has an important place in this journey, and we see further potential for growth here. At the same time, Europe cannot be approached as a single market. Customer expectations, regulations, infrastructure and operating conditions differ significantly from country to country. We believe our ability to understand these differences and respond with the right products and solutions sets us apart. We combine our global engineering capabilities with local market knowledge and flexibility. This approach supports our growth in Spain and across Europe and is at the core of our ‘Designed to Lead Your Journey’ approach.”

TEMSA’s global experience provides a strong foundation for its European operations. To date, the company has produced more than 140,000 vehicles and exported over 19,000 vehicles to 70 countries. TEMSA vehicles have collectively travelled more than 10 billion kilometres around the world.

Built for Different Mobility Needs

The Prestij and Avenue Neo 9e address different areas of the European mobility market. While the Prestij builds on TEMSA’s long-standing experience in the midibus segment, the Avenue Neo 9e addresses growing demand for zero-emission urban transport. The two models reflect TEMSA’s strategy of adapting its European product portfolio to different market requirements and operating conditions.

TEMSA showcased the Avenue Neo 9e, its 9-metre all-electric city bus, at FIAA 2026. The Avenue Neo 9e has capacity for up to 75 passengers, a range of up to 600 kilometres and a turning radius of 7,070 millimetres, it is designed for both dense city operations and longer suburban routes.  Its 300-kW DC fast-charging capability enables a full charge in 75 minutes. The model builds on TEMSA’s experience with the MD9 Electricity, which has covered more than five million kilometres in service across different markets since 2016.

More than 22,000 Prestij units sold

First launched in 1992, Prestij has become one of TEMSA’s most established models and a key part of the company’s expertise in the midibus segment. TEMSA unveiled the new generation of Prestij in May 2025 under the “Legend. Reborn.” concept, marking the model’s most extensive design renewal since 2016.

The renewed Prestij retains the compact dimensions and operational efficiency associated with the model, while introducing a new exterior design, advanced safety technologies and an updated interior designed to enhance the driver and passenger experience.

The vehicle has been developed for a range of short- and medium-distance applications, including tourism, airport transfers, employee and school transportation, and corporate fleets. It also offers 29 language options to support international operations, along with a three-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty.

TEMSA continues to expand Prestij’s presence across European markets as part of its growth strategy in the midibus segment.
